Run order

How the pieces fit together

  1. Paste the funder's verbatim review criteria into Claude as system context before drafting anything.
  2. Draft Specific Aims yourself; use Claude only to compress to one page.
  3. Load your bibliography PDFs into NotebookLM and ask which aim is most threatened by which prior work.
  4. Build the budget in Overleaf or a spreadsheet, then run a ChatGPT audit pass for missing justifications.
  5. Close with a Claude hostile-reviewer pass against the full packet; address every landing objection.
Before you ship

This stack only earns its keep when you actually follow the run order.

  • Generated prose that sounds smooth often hides a hypothesis the model rewrote. Always reread aloud against your notes.
  • Indirect-cost and fringe rates are institutional facts, not model guesses. Get them from your office of research.
  • Never upload unpublished participant data, confidential clinical info, or co-PI personnel records into any cloud tool.
  • If you only have one weekend, drop NotebookLM and ChatGPT first — Claude + Overleaf is the minimum viable stack.
